Small passive solar house plans – The annual amount of energy that a room receives through a south-facing window is usually larger than the annual heat loss through the same window. It is the most simple form of passive solar heat. Passive solar heat is a form of building-integrated solar heat, where the sun’s rays are used to heat the building. The use of passive solar heat works best when it happens as an integrated part of the façade and is not something that is built in the form of sun loungers or glass houses.
When the sun shines, the sun’s heat is transported into the building. It is preferably done through the windows and other glass elements. There are two different principles in the field of passive solar heating, which each set their own requirements for the house design. First, the solar heat is absorbed through an integrated glass facade in the room. It is called integrated passive solar heat.
Second, the solar heat is absorbed through sun loungers or glass houses and carried on into the house. It is called added passive solar heat. Both new construction and existing houses can use passive solar heating for full or partial heating of the dwelling.
